Sulfamic Acid
Donau Chemie has built Europe's first production plant for amidosulfonic acid in Pischelsdorf / Austria, and produces high-purity sulfamic acid. For our customers, this means shorter and thus more environmentally friendly transport routes and security of supply.
Sulfamic acid is an industrial chemical and an important raw material for the production of decalcifiers, limescale removers, and sanitary cleaners. When dissolved, the colorless crystalline substance is a very effective limescale remover. It is odorless and much more effective than citric or acetic acid. Sulfamic acid is also used as an important raw material in the plastics industry, the sweetener industry, electroplating, and laboratories.

As Austria’s largest producer of sulfuric acid, we make strategic use of the synergies at our site. Alongside urea and oleum, sulfuric acid is a key component in the production of our sulfamic acid.
We are the only producer in Europe to offer reliable quality from Austrian production. Short supply chains ensure high supply reliability, complemented by flexible production and delivery options, including just-in-time deliveries. Our R&D team also provides support for technical inquiries as well as application- and logistics-related consulting.
Our sulfamic acid is available in two grades: technical (min. 99.5%) and premium (min. 99.8%). It is used, among other things, as a descaler, in sanitary cleaners, in the plastics and sweetener industries, in electroplating, and in laboratories.
Delivery is exclusively to bulk buyers for orders of 12 tons or more per shipment.
