Hydrochloric acid

Hydrochloric acid is hydrogen chloride (HCl) dissolved in water. It is a strong inorganic acid and belongs to the mineral acids. The clear, colourless liquid is corrosive with a pungent odour. It reacts violently with alkaline substances and attacks metals.

Hydrochloric acid is produced in Donau Chemie by burning a mixture of chlorine and hydrogen.

Hydrochloric acid is of great importance to industry and is used in ore processing to dissolve out metals. It is also used in metal processing for pickling, etching and soldering, in chemical analysis or as an additive in the food industry.

Donau Chemie offers hydrochloric acid in different qualities.
